Fort Boonesborough, Sportsman's Weekend, Dulcimer Festival and more

Bardstown Colonial Days
Bardstown relives the 18th century March 30-April 1 with a Market Fair in Old Bardstown Village: Friday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m.-5 p.m.), and Sunday (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Enjoy 18th-century market vendors, artisans, speakers, entertainers, and living-history demos including flintlock rifles, military drills and displays, and Native American village. Cost for the entire weekend is $6 adults, $3 children ages 6-12, free ages 5 and under. There is also a special Historical Ball at Historic Wickland Estate on Saturday evening, $20 tickets for the public. Greenbo Dulcimer Festival
The Rail City Dulcimer Society is hosting a Dulcimer Festival on March 30-31 at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, Greenup, dedicated to the Kentucky State Instrument, the Appalachian mountain dulcimer. The festival will feature some of the areaís best dulcimer players and groups, with performances on the mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer. In addition to performances, Saturday offers a history class for the hammered dulcimer and workshops on playing the mountain dulcimer. No charge for the class or workshops; overnight accommodations available at the Jesse Stuart Lodge. St. Patrickís Campout
Pack up the camper or tent and head to Fort Boonesborough State Park in Richmond where everyone is Irish March 16-18. There will be scheduled times for a shamrock hunt, camper decoration contest, treasure hunt, NCAA basketball on the big screen (satellite TV), free putt-putt, free historic tours, and lots more. Future Sportsmanís Weekend
A fun-filled weekend at Rough River Dam State Resort Park, Falls of Rough, March 9-11, gets youth interested in outdoor activities and Kentuckyís natural resources through interpretive programming and hands-on activities. Activities include an archery competition, fishing derby, and a Kentucky native wildlife program with live animals. Saturday evening features a buffalo and wild game dinner buffet at Graysonís Landing Restaurant. Two-night packages, $185 for two nights lodging, breakfast, and buffalo dinner for two; one-night packages, $120 for one night lodging, breakfast, and buffalo dinner for two.
